Effective July 1 2021, US phone carriers will change the way that robo-calls are identified. These new protocols and procedures are collectively known as STIR/SHAKEN or SHAKEN/STIR – intended to combat caller ID spoofing on public telephone networks. Caller ID spoofing is used by robo-callers to mask their identity or to make it appear the call is from a legitimate source, often a nearby phone number with the same area code and exchange.

Caller ID Spoofing is also used by legitimate companies, like DoctorConnect to send our clients phone numbers as the caller ID when placing your automated voice reminder phone calls.

What this means for DoctorConnect clients:

Your reminders will still get delivered and your phone number will continue to show as the Caller ID.

DoctorConnect has been working with our upstream providers to minimize impact from these changes.

DoctorConnect will be monitoring delivery and confirmation rates very closely as these changes roll out and will continue to update you as the industry makes this considerable change.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact your account manager.

Thank you.
